My Tattoo Journey

Every great studio has an origin story. Ours starts with a 19-year-old kid who had nothing but passion, a dream, and an unshakeable belief that tattooing could be more than just a job. That kid was me.

In 2010, at just 17 years old, I got my first tattoo. Watching the artist transform an idea into permanent art on skin was mesmerizing. I knew right then: this is what I want to do. I started learning tattooing in 2011, training under experienced artists, practicing relentlessly on fake skin, studying every style I could find. By 2012, at just 19 years old, I took the biggest risk of my life and opened Sam Tattoo India in Mumbai.

It wasn’t easy. Starting a tattoo studio as a teenager with limited resources meant long days, constant learning, and dealing with skepticism. But I was determined to prove that tattoos are not just body art. They’re storytelling, they’re therapy, they’re legacy.

Over the years, Sam Tattoo India grew from a one-man operation to a team of incredibly talented artists. Many of them started as my students: Hardik, Rohan, Kapil, Ankit, Vidhi, Bhavin. Watching them evolve from beginners to award-winning artists has been one of the most fulfilling parts of this journey.

What I Do Best

Over 13+ years, I’ve specialized in several styles. Polynesian and Maori tattoos with bold, intricate tribal designs and deep cultural meaning. Geometric and mandala work rooted in precision-based sacred geometry. Realistic and portrait tattoos that bring lifelike depictions of people, animals, and memories. Devotional and religious tattoos featuring Shiva, Krishna, Ganesh, and spiritual symbols. Full custom sleeves and large-scale work for complex, storytelling pieces.

But beyond technique, what I bring to every tattoo is intention. I sit with my clients, I listen to their stories, and I design something that truly reflects who they are.

My Philosophy

Tattooing is sacred. It’s not about rushing through appointments or churning out designs from Google. It’s about understanding the person sitting in front of you, honoring their trust, and creating something they’ll carry forever. At Sam Tattoo India, we don’t do walk-ins without consultation. We don’t compromise on hygiene. We don’t take shortcuts. Every tattoo is treated like it’s the only one that matters because to the person wearing it, it is.
